Riso Scotti Rice Oil is the first and most important Riso Scotti healthy condiments.
According to the scientific literature a specific component called y-orizanol has the power of lowering “bad” cholesterol in blood and helping in cases of cardio-vascular desease.

Obtained from rice bran Riso Scotti Rice Oil is totally different from olive oil, especially because it has a much lighter and more delicate taste, but it is also different from the several vegetable oil we use to see on the shelves.
As far as vegetable oils are concerned, oil is normally found inside the seed where it has the function of generating energy and caloric support; on the contrary rice oil is found in rice bran and in the protective layers in between rice husk and the real rice kernel/grain.
So it doesn’t work as an “energy supplier” but as a protector of rice grains from all outer chemical threats. For this reason rice oil is naturally rich in antioxidant and active substances, from which it derives its health-related properties.

Rice oil has very positive “gastronomic” points:

• very high smoke point (so it is particularly good for fried foods, to which it gives fragrance and lightness)
• sweet and delicate flavour
• pleasant nutty aroma
• ideal dressing for cold foods and salads
