| HISTORY
Founded in 1860, Riso Scotti was one of the first Italian
rice factories to produce and sell packaged rice, thus
guaranteeing the constant high quality and hygiene of
the product.
Today, the most prestigious varieties of rice are harvested
from the Scotti farms, whose rice fields extend over
hundreds of hectares, in the heart of the Po Valley,
and are then prepared and packaged in the modern plant
of Pavia.
From the first packets made from material or paper
to present elegant dark-blue packets, the image of Riso
Scotti has evolved continuously over time, while our
pride in our products and our desire and effort to always
give the very best rice to our customers remains unchanged.
For this reason, Riso Scotti is nowadays playing an
important role of partnering with consumers offering
a healthy but tasty and pleasant range of delicacies,
which are all based on rice. |

THE FACTORY
Already a few years ago Riso Scotti strategically planned
to have the entire production process under one roof.
As a consequence Bivio Vela was born. It's a large state
of the art high tech plant which concentrates the most
modern and efficient solutions in the industry.
The real breakthrough it is not just technological,
albeit Riso Scotti uses the most advanced machines,
but it encompasses Riso Scotti revolutionary approach
to rice processing. Through a strict quality and efficiency
control of every production phase and a totally new
production lay out, Riso Scotti is able to run a "zero
waste" operation. The rice waste which is generated
at every stage of the process is reused for maximum
efficiency and total environment preservation.
Every step of the way each and any production cycle
waste becomes the key raw material for further processes.
Hence, the outer shell of the grain is burnt in a unique
power plant which generates energy. Similarly, the rice
bran, the external portion of the grain, which is very
rich in fat, is used for the production of Rice Bran
Oil. In addition the broken grains are puffed and are
used as ingredients of
other rice based products.
In an industry where waste amounts up to 40% of the
raw rice used, this is an extraordinary achievement.
In addition, the logistic process is simplified and
streamlined to the maximum possible extent by keeping
the entire process under one roof. |
