Basmati rice, whose name means "Queen of fragrance", is a rice variety of long grain, famous for its sandalwood fragrance and its delicate flavour.
It has been cultivated in India and Pakistan for a hundred years; its distinctive characteristic is its long grains that, once cooked, double their length and retain their consistency.
Basmati Rice benefits health thanks to its low fat content.
In the kitchen: ideal as side dish or for an exotic main dish.
